Algis Davidavičius is a media and information literacy expert at Vilnius Institute for Policy Analysis (VIPA), a Lithuanian think tank. In this capacity, he develops and provides critical information literacy skills development programs for both young, adult, mainstream, and minority audiences. These programs emphasize disruptive technological change, the role of media, and risks for civil society. On behalf of the Institute, he advocates for development of integrated media-civic literacy educational programs on national level. From 1995 to 1999, Algis was a freelance reporter with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. His main long-term academic focus is inclusive democratization and resilience to autocratization and conflict, especially vis-a-vis media and public communication. Since 2010, Algis has taught undergraduate courses at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania.
