Miroslav Mizera is the special adviser to the deputy minister of defense of the Slovak Republic. Prior to this position he served as adviser to the deputy minister of economy of the Slovak Republic, as head of secretariat for the Slovak-European Union presidency 2016 at the Ministry of Defense, and as an adviser to successive deputy ministers at the ministry of defense. Prior to his career in public service Miroslav worked as editor-in-chief of the Euro-Atlantic Quarterly (2007-2008), vice-president of the International Youth Atlantic Treaty Association (2009-2011) and manager of various projects in the Slovak Atlantic Commission (2007-2010). Miroslav has lectured and participated in numerous security and foreign policy seminars and lectures in Slovakia, the Western Balkans, and Europe. He holds degrees from Matej Bel University and the Catholic University in Leuven, and has also completed education programs at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, the International Visitor Leadership Program, the NATO School in Oberammergau, the Slovak National Defense Academy, and the European Security and Defense College.
