Oleg Panfilov is a professor at Ilia State University in Tbilisi, Georgia. Prior to this, he served on the National Security Council of Georgia as a volunteer. Due to his service, he received the Order of Honor of Georgia and was given Georgian citizenship by the decree of the president. Mr. Panfilov started his career as a research fellow at the Institute of History of the Academy of Science of Tajikistan. After this, he was a founding member of the Cultural Foundation of Tajikistan. He subsequently became the director of the Glasnost Defense Foundation. During this time, he also served as an expert for the UN negotiations on inter-Tajik settlement in Tehran, Kabul, Islamabad, Almaty, and Ashgabat. Mr. Panfilov has been a correspondent for various media outlets, including Nezavisimaya Gazeta and Radio Liberty Prague. He received his master’s degree from Lininabad State Pedagogical Institute.
