Rufin Zamfir is the programme director at GlobalFocus Centre, an independent foreign policy think-tank based in Bucharest, Romania. In this capacity, he coordinates the Security and Asymmetric Threats Program, which focuses on information warfare, radicalization, terrorism, and cyber warfare. He also serves as a Western Balkans strategic analyst. Prior to this, he spent over ten years as an intelligence officer with the Romanian Domestic Intelligence Agency. He is a frequent contributor to Foreign Policy, and he holds a master’s degree from the National School of Political and Administrative Studies in Romania.
